Set of test cases for railway infrastructure, application and test method.
The test case is used on site in the management of a public railway for passenger and goods transport by train, tram or metro. The test case contains test equipment that is used in a relay house or at a relay box to determine the correct functioning of the railway or train safety system, for example the signal system. Examples are the simulation of actuators concerning the route adjustment, switch control, switch control, section occupancy, operation of signals, operation of ATB. The need for such a test arises, for example, in the case of a modification of the infrastructure and / or modification in the security of the signal system.
During the tests, all connections in the relay house to the outside world (points and signals) were interrupted. One therefore simulates a situation and checks whether all the cabling and configuration within the signal box functions according to design. The preparation of the test (connecting all cable wires) can take several days. The test case is present in the relay house all the time until the tests are completed.
The existing test case contains test equipment that consists of analog parts, which are outdated, maintenance-sensitive and unreliable. Moreover, costs of storage and maintenance are relatively high. Available are an output test case with only manual switches for output signals, for the control of control signals, and an input test case with only lamps for input signals, for the control of return signals. When a test is to be carried out, both the output and the input test case are taken to the test location, however, these test cases are not used simultaneously during a test because during a test period only input or only output signals are tested and only after this test period is the another signal type is used in a subsequent test period. During a test, a large number of test cases of the same type (input or output) are usually present simultaneously and used in a relay house. Each test case, irrespective of its type, contains all equipment to be used as a stand-alone functional unit, for example the connection points to which the power and / or signal cables coming from the components to be tested are connected and also the equipment for the communication between man and machine.
The invention contemplates one or more of the following: less error-prone; more reliable; work faster; the storage and maintenance of the test cases and all associated components cheaper, for example storage and maintenance in an office environment, instead of in a storage container or workshop.
To this end, a set of at least two test cases has been invented, each of which contains equipment so that each has its own partial functionality that differs from that of the other test case of the set, and each has a provision so that their equipment is communicatively connected to each other and in that case the test cases complement each other into a complete functional unit to perform the required input or output tests with their joint equipment. So neither of the two test cases of the set can be used for a full test without the other of the set. Only combined and communicatively connected to each other there is the required complete test functionality.
In a preferred embodiment, the one test case contains one or more of the following equipment: for communication between man and machine, such as a screen and / or keyboard; computer with one or more of memory and processor; energy source, for example battery and / or transformer that converts 230V mains voltage to low voltage below 50V, and which may also be intended for the other test case; and the other test case the following equipment: the connection points to which the power and / or signal cables coming from the components to be tested are connected, preferably so that connection points for input tests and connection points for output tests are present, preferably of both types of connection points substantially equally a lot of. Preferably, composite connection points are missing, that is to say connection points that are suitable for both input and output tests.
Preferably, one test case contains equipment that does not exist in the other test case, preferably this applies to all equipment contained in a test case.
In a preferred embodiment the equipment is adapted for digital data processing and for this purpose comprises one or more of an analogue digital converter; digital memory; digital CPU; digital display; digital processing unit.
On the screen, various indicators are preferably visualized, such as a signal, a light box, a code relay, and a departure light. The display screen is preferably hingedly mounted at its top edge to the lid of the case to pivot out of the lid with its bottom edge, as further explained in the drawing.
Although the test cases can be equipped with a transmitter and receiver for wireless mutual communication, wired communication is preferable, so that the test cases are connected to each other by a signal or current-carrying cable and are therefore equipped with a suitable connecting plug or base.
The test cases of the set are preferably transported separately from each other to the test location and connected to each other at the test location using the communication cable.
A test case has a size and weight to be portable with one hand, for example weight between 15 and 20 or 25 kg and size between paper size A1 and A2 and a maximum of 15 or 20 or 25 cm thick, and a single carrying handle. Example dimensions of the case: 21 x 62 x 49 cm (h x w x d) or 19 x 90 x 58 (h x w x d)
INTERCHANGE TEST
In order to be able to perform a turnout test faster, according to the invention the test case is connected to the 136V signal which becomes available in the relay house as soon as the train service manager has inserted a roadway and thereby controls turnouts in a certain position. Thus, during testing, it is not necessary to manually place the switch in the correct position after the usual auditory signal, but the case itself detects the steering, after which the case automatically places the switch in the correct position.
The drawing shows one of the many embodiments of the invention.

FIG. 1 and 2 show the set of two test cases from different viewing directions. The keyboard and screen of the case containing the I / O are placed in front of the case. The display screen is hingedly mounted on its top edge to the lid of the case and is flipped forward in Figs. 1 and 2 to stand obliquely backwards as Figs. 1 and 2 show, resting on its bottom edge.
FIG. 3 shows the case with I / O, now with the screen stored in the lid and keyboard and mouse placed in the bottom. In addition to the top edge of the keyboard, the housing with power supply and PC is located in the bottom.
